| Bio | I am a retired social worker. I have a master's degree in psychology from OISE at the University of Toronto. I worked with families who supportd mermbers with intellectual disabilities. When one of my clients became homeless, I took him in temporarily. It turned out that he has severe complex PTSD, and he began recovering memories of abuse. My husband and I have been caring for him for the past 20 years, and I have learned a remarkable amount about PTSD and how to manage it on a daily basis. |

In one section, Chris tells his own story, from childhood until we met. I have finished the first draft of a second book, Under the Surface, which tells how Chris's relatives responded to his disclosure of abuse. I am beginning a third book, Broken Gold, which introduces Chris's therapist, Dr. Michael Irving, and talks about Chris's younger selves coming out. |
