Bio Lucian Childs was a Peter Taylor Fellow at the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop. He was a finalist for the Faulkner-Wisdom Short Story Award and an artist in residence at Byrdcliffe Art Colony in Woodstock, NY and at Artscape Gibraltar Point on the Toronto Islands. He holds bachelor degrees in English from Southern Methodist University and in architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a co-editor of 2017 Lambda Literary finalist, “Building Fires in the Snow: A Collection of Alaska LGBTQ Short Fiction and Poetry.” His essays and reviews have appeared on the 49 Writers blog and in the Anchorage Press. His stories explore issues of family, identity and community and have appeared or are forthcoming in the literary journals Grain, The Puritan, Sanskrit, Quiddity and Prairie Fire, among others. He lives in Toronto, Ontario.
