If you are applying for Professional designation for the first time, please note that you must provide support for your application for review and approval by the CAA Membership Committee.
You may be eligible for Professional designation if you earned income in any of the following categories and meet the specific criteria set out in the guidelines:
- book author
- short-story writer
- freelance writer
- newspaper writer
- scriptwriter
- translator
- technical writer
- creative writing instructor with publication credits
- any other kind of writer who has been published or produced and received payment for their work
Certain criteria apply, and support is required at the time of application; your membership will not be completely processed until a) we receive your support package, and b) your application is approved by the Membership Committee.
