Canadian Authors – National Capital Region Branch: Attributes of a Writer, with Ifeoma Chinwuba
Via Zoom. Ifeoma Chinwuba, the current Writer-in-Residence at the University of Alberta, will lead this session on raising a writer at home and in school, and habits and outlook that encourage the creative spirit. She will talk about resources to draw from to become a self-made writer. Ms. Ifeoma Chinwuba rose from a child refugee in the Biafra War to ambassador of Nigeria to Côte d’Ivoire. Creative writer and teacher Trevor Carolan will introduce and read poems from his last poetry collection and other books, offering some personal anecdotes. He will introduce the technique of haibun poetry from Japan that has been catching on with North American poets.
