Canadian Authors – National Capital Region Branch: Attributes of a Writer, with Ifeoma Chinwuba

Ifeoma Chinwuba, the current Writer-in-Residence at the University of Alberta, will lead this session on raising a writer at home and in school, and habits and outlook that encourage the creative spirit. She will talk about resources to draw from to become a self-made writer.

Ms. Ifeoma Chinwuba rose from a child refugee in the Biafra War to ambassador of Nigeria to Côte d’Ivoire. She has published five books: Merchants of Flesh, Fearless, Waiting for Maria, African Romance and Head Boy. In 2008, Waiting for Maria was on the Commonwealth Writers Prize long list. Ms. Chinwuba is the Writer-in-Residence 2021-2022 of the University of Alberta, Edmonton.
