Canadian Authors Association – BC Branch: Author Talk – Women Talking About Women on Women’s Day, with Mary-Anne Neal

On March 8th, celebrated worldwide as International Women’s Day, CAA-BC Branch will welcome Mary-Anne Neal, an author and educator who has worked closely as a volunteer with Indigenous women in the remote Sahtu region of the Northwest Territories, to improve literacy and increase pride in their Dene heritage. Mary-Anne’s memoir, Under the Midnight Sun, recounts her fifty-year friendship with the Arctic Dene and provides an insight into Indigenous and non-Indigenous lives in the context of the changing environment of the Arctic. Since 2021, more than 4,000 copies of the book have been sold.
