DESCRIPTION:On March 8th\, celebrated worldwide as International Women’s Day\, CAA-BC Branch will welcome Mary-Anne Neal\, an author and educator who has worked closely as a volunteer with Indigenous women in the remote Sahtu region of the Northwest Territories\, to improve literacy and increase pride in their Dene heritage. Mary-Anne’s memoir\, Under the Midnight Sun\, recounts her fifty-year friendship with the Arctic Dene and provides an insight into Indigenous and non-Indigenous lives in the context of the changing environment of the Arctic.
