Join Atmosphere Press for a cozy Saturday reading with Toni McBride (That’s Lovely), Jo Ann Kiser (Sunday People: A Novel), and Gary A. Keith (Austin Blues).
Toni McBride is a loving wife and mother of two. Her journey led her to Rutgers University and then to a career in education. When she’s not busy inspiring her students, savoring family time, or enjoying the beautiful chaos of life, Toni loves escaping into the world of her characters. Toni’s stories are a heartfelt blend of humor, romance, and the occasional twist. She draws from her diverse background and observations of daily life to weave stories that reflect her own belief in the power of true love and how both magical and wonderfully unpredictable it can be.
Jo Ann Kiser, a native of eastern Kentucky, spent several years at The New Yorker, where her favorite job was as a fact-checker. Later she returned to school and received a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago’s Committee on Social Thought with her dissertation on dialectic and salvation in Marcel Proust’s A la recherche du temps perdu. Her earlier publications include the novel A Young Woman from the Provinces and a collection of short stories titled The Guitar Player and Other Songs of Exile.
Gary A. Keith is a long-time Austinite involved in academia, politics, government—and Austin’s cultural and music scene. A member of the Writers’ League of Texas, Austin Blues is his debut novel. He has previously written books and articles on Texas politics as well as a biography, Eckhardt: There Once Was a Congressman from Texas, which was a finalist for the Writers’ League Violet Crown Award for Nonfiction.
