March 10, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

In 2021 there are plenty of great reasons to write short fiction. From flash fiction to novelettes, the form has enjoyed a resurgence of popularity, and it’s a path to reach readers and connect with publishers. Writing short is a way to test-drive other genres, hone your craft, and stretch your creative muscles. KT will outline a few of the techniques she uses to generate, draft and revise her short fiction. She’ll also lead participants through a couple of writing exercises and discuss markets.
Regardless of the weather and surrounded by gnomes, gargoyles and poisonous plants, KT Wagner writes Gothic horror and op/ed pieces in the garden of her Maple Ridge home. She enjoys day-dreaming and is a collector of strange plants, weird trivia and obscure tomes. KT graduated from Simon Fraser University’s Writers Studio in 2015 (Southbank 2013). She organizes writer events for Golden Ears Writers and works to create literary community though much of this has been temporarily derailed by the pandemic. A number of her short stories are published in magazines and anthologies. She’s currently working on a scifi/folk-horror novel. KT can be found online at www.northernlightsgothic.com and @KT_Wagner.
