Martha Webb

is a literary agent, director and full partner at The McDermid Agency. Her list focuses on literary fiction and narrative non-fiction, including investigative journalism and memoir. Her clients include award-winning fiction writers Michael Crummey, Nino Ricci, Alison Pick, Saleema Nawaz and Pasha Malla, Crazy Town author Robyn Doolittle; Globe and Mail sports columnist Cathal Kelly, restaurateur Jen Agg of The Black Hoof; Andrew Westoll, winner of the 2011 RBC Taylor Prize, graphic memoirist Sarah Lazarovic, and Karen Le Billon, whose first book French Kids Eat Everything sold into thirteen countries and translated into ten languages. She holds an MA in Literature from the University of Edinburgh, and has been with the agency since 2005.

Martha will be a part of the agents’ panel discussion at our CanWrite! conference on Friday, June 23 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm as well as offering 10-minute pitch sessions on both Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24 from 9:30 – 11:30 am.
