Designed for everyone from newbies to seasoned walkers, the new book combines strategies, tools, and journaling ideas for walking for mental health, spiritual strength, and physical fitness with evidence-based tools, strategies, and journaling exercises from The University of Toronto Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education and The Art of Living Foundation and a memoir of Susan’s walking journey.
Susan Sommers is an award-winning speaker, teacher, and self-care expert who inspires audiences of all sizes internationally. She celebrates her journey from a short, overweight child, a cigarette-smoking teen, and a yo-yo dieting adult to entering her first 5k walk race in 2003 at 59. Since then, Susan has completed thirty-five races, from 5k to 7 ½ hour walk Marathons. During COVID-19, she walked the 778-kilometre El Camino de Santiago trail virtually in Toronto: 15,000 steps a day for four months to receive her medal in October, 2020.
