CAA–BC Branch Event: Author Talk with Dietrich Kalteis

Dietrich will tell us what ignites a good crime story and what a good crime story should look like. How to find your voice, get to know your characters and let them speak. How to set the scenes and work the subplots into the main story line. Is it better to plot a story in advance or jump right into the writing? Crime plot-lines have been told and retold many times. How can the genre be kept fresh?  

Dietrich will reveal where his book ideas come from, how he goes about researching the settings, what books he reads, and how he goes about the writing and editing process of his crime novels.
