Join internationally recognized artist & storyteller Naomi Steinberg for an entrancing evening of story performance and discussion of her book, Goosefeather: Once Upon a Cartographic Adventure. PLEASE REGISTER HERE – https://www.banyen.com/events/steinberg.

In 2015, Naomi Steinberg completed a 382 day adventure, covering 55,965 kilometres around the world by road and rail, land and sea, performing a playful and profound one-woman show that questions the very nature of modern connection. Crossing 18 borders to perform 37 productions everywhere from Japan to Russia to Belgium to the middle of the ocean, upon the decks of a cargo ship, she explored what it means to tell a truly universal story.

“An open hearted, clear, loving and exciting story of one woman’s journey across our planet. A testament to making and keeping connections.”
– Alma Lee, founder of the Vancouver International Writers Festival

BIOGRAPHY: Naomi Eliana Pommier Steinberg is a gifted artist and storyteller. She has over 20 years’ experience performing traditional folk and fairytales and facilitating workshops with diverse communities. Most recently, Naomi voyaged around Earth without taking an airplane. She told her hand-spun story, Goosefeather, wherever she went, and in June 2020 self-published a book about the experience. A candid and compassionate travelogue and memoir, Goosefeather: Once Upon a Cartographic Adventure shares the ups and downs of an extraordinary year of global travel.

Naomi believes that to work deeply with a story is to embark on a journey of discovery and play. She researches academia, movement, clown, gestural vocabulary, and vocal dynamics to enhance storytelling performance. Her evocative storytelling work has been covered in The Huffington Post and Plank Magazine and she has facilitated workshops for organizations including MOSAIC, EcoTrust, and the European Parliament.
