Memoir writing, or personal essay, is defined as a work of creative nonfiction that illustrates a personal experience using literary techniques and narrative devices such as dialogue, character, setting and scene. In a world on fire, what does it mean to be reborn? Despite the development of vaccines, COVID 19 continues to exert a controlling influence on our lives. Climate change runs unabated. Politics are as personal as the masks we now wear. How can we reshape our futures? Are we passive objects of rebirth or architects of renewal? Poets are free to interpret the theme as they wish .Maximum poem length of 80 lines.

QWF College Writers Award

Description: QWF established a prize for young writers in 2017. In 2021, it was relaunched as the QWF College Writers Award. The prize is be awarded to a Quebec resident who is enrolled in one of the sponsoring colleges: Champlain, Dawson, Heritage, John Abbott, Marianopolis, and Vanier.

John Fleming Award in Decorative Arts Writing

Description: This award recognizes an exceptional example of original magazine writing on decorative arts in Canada. These arts include architectural ornament; ceramics; glass; furniture and furnishings; graphics; metalwork and jewellery; textiles; theatre arts; and interior, industrial, and landscape design.
