Just when Banff, Alberta begins to feel like home, and everything is perfect, fifteen-year-old Jillian’s life goes sideways. The unthinkable happens to her boyfriend’s sister and Greg must head back home, halfway across the globe. Aunt Steph drops hints about applying for a job in Waterton. And new friendships get prickly. Jillian is sure her life can’t get any more complicated…but then it does.

Excerpt:

My morning routine now starts with checking emails for anything from Greg. Again, nothing. I know he’s got more important stuff going on but it’s hard not to be a part of it, even from a distance. Just to hear if Suzanne is okay.

I read Mom’s short email which gives a rundown on how busy she is and that she hopes I am helping Steph out. It sounds as if I am one of her clients and she is going through the process of staying in touch. It is kind of funny how she never asks anything personal, like she’s afraid I might tell her life is not fabulous and then she would have to deal with it. I send her my weather report type response. I forever have Oma to thank for teaching me how to say nothing with something.

Before I shut my laptop, an email from Dale pops up. Dale? Dad? I still don’t know what to call him. Dad makes him sound too familiar. I only met him once and we’ve sent a few emails back and forth since then, so I tend to go with calling him Dale.

My finger hovers over the keyboard. Shoot. I feel guilty. I sent their presents in the mail with a letter apologizing for not coming to spend Christmas with them. I hope they got it. My guilt simmers when I realize they never called, and this is the first I have heard from them in two weeks.

"Having met Jillian in Summer of Lies and What about Me?, readers will be excited to catch up with her in book 3. As she navigates yet more of the angst faced by teenagers, her story is superbly told by Barbara Baker as the author gets inside the female teenage mind."

Kirsten on GoodReads wrote:

"I loved this book! It was amazing to witness Jillian’s evolution through the three books and I really hope that there’s a fourth book - I NEED more Jillian!!! I read this book in just over a day and it was really great. The author captured challenges that teens go through effortlessly while also showing the characters changing maturity. The descriptions of Banff were flawless and I could easily picture myself on the slopes of sunshine or hiking to Skoki."
