After drone specialist and newly licensed private investigator, Cody Marshal assists police in stopping the kidnapping of a young child, he’s hired by the boy's father to see why he was taken, in what will be, Cody’s first case. His girlfriend, a Toronto Police Officer, Taylor Brants, who also assisted in stopping the abduction, is placed on the investigation to find who was behind the attempt.
As the live-in couple follow up on their separate investigations, they arrive at the same conclusion. The kidnapping was part of an elaborate scheme to raise money for the newly formed violent white supremacist terrorist organization, Pyre.
Their lives are soon put in danger as they work to take down the deadly group before they can unleash their fiery hate upon the city. Will Taylor and Cody be able to stop this violent hate organization? More importantly, will they be able to survive their first time working together?
Taylor saw what was happening and when the man turned his head toward the sound of the drone, she knew she needed to distract him. With her weapon drawn, she quickly stepped out from the protection of her tree. “It’s over. Drop your gun. Hands in the air.”
The man again raised the gun over the boy’s shoulder in her direction. Instantly she dropped to the ground and looked up in time to see the high-speed impact of man and machine.
The sound of a thousand bees, the whomp of a machine slamming into a body at more than its listed top speed, and the howl of an injured man filled Taylor’s ears as the drone met the man’s upper back. The drone’s rigid propellers sliced his jacket, shirt and skin open before the weight and momentum of the machine pitched sent both him and the child to the ground.

The inspector put the radio to his mouth. “Brant. Immobilize the suspect and stay put. We’ll look after the child.”
Davis turned to Cody. “That must have cost you a few bucks.”
“It’s not the first drone I’ve destroyed. At least this time, it was worthwhile.”
