The Muskoka Authors Association is excited to welcome acclaimed author Kelley Armstrong for “Page-Turning Fiction,” an engaging workshop on Saturday, September 19, designed to help writers create stories that grab readers’ attention and keep them turning the pages.

Genre fiction is, at its heart, about entertaining and engaging the reader. In this hands-on workshop, Armstrong will share strategies for maximizing reader engagement from the earliest planning stages through to the final manuscript.

Participants will explore ways to build momentum into a story, create the kind of narrative drive that keeps readers invested, and recognize opportunities to increase the pace when a completed manuscript begins to drag. Armstrong will offer practical tips and tricks writers can take back to their own work, whether they are outlining a new novel or trying to breathe fresh energy into a manuscript already underway.
