Presented by The Canadian Children’s Book Centre (CCBC).
Thirty-nine authors and illustrators have been selected to take part in this hybrid tour, with 35 touring in person and five dedicated to offering virtual presentations. Of the 40 participants, 25 creators are touring as part of the event for the first time. This year’s roster was chosen in consultation with a volunteer committee of children’s book experts. During the week-long event, touring authors and illustrators will celebrate the magic of creating stories and the joy of books and reading with kids and teens.
The CCBC is thrilled to be offering something for everyone! Book Week 2026 will include sessions for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Kids and teens will have the chance to engage in exciting talks and workshops that explore writing and illustration techniques, STEM themes, activism, folklore, and so much more.
The event will feature five authors who will be offering presentations in English and in French: Mireille Messier, Ginalina, Anne Renaud, Andrew Katz and Juliana Leveille-Trudel.
The upcoming national tour will take place from Sunday, April 26 to Saturday, May 2, 2026.
