Join author Edward Y. C. Lee as he discusses his debut novel, The Laundryman’s Boy.
Set in St. Catherine’s in 1913, The Laundryman’s Boy follows 13-year-old Hoi Wing Woo’s struggles to build escape a life of hard labour and exploitation, and make something more of himself. Edward Lee will talk about his journey as a writer, the process of writing this novel, including interviews and research conducted into the struggles of new Chinese immigrants to Canada in the early 20th century. He will also share an excerpt from the novel!
