| Bio | Trina Brooks was born in London, Ontario. Her book obsession began with Victorian orphans then moved through hobbits, elves, civil war heroines and onto world war two spies. With an interest in viewing history as it happened she graduated from Broadcast-Journalism. With her other passion being theater she spent several years on stage in Toronto, Canada and London, UK delivering the words from notables such as Shakespeare, Shaw and Simon until she came to the realization she no longer wanted to speak other people's words. As a playwright most of her work has historically inspired themes, including her award-winning drama, Left Behind. After a lifetime of rolling her eyes every time her family members began waxing poetic about the “good old days” one day she chose to listen and concluded these stories were actually treasure troves of twentieth century life. The tales went on to inspire The Barren Hills of Creighton. Currently she resides in London, Ontario with her partner, Jim and her feline roommates, Rosey and Helen. |
