Why Donate to Canadian Authors?
Stories matter now more than ever. They teach us, they inspire us, and they connect us. In keeping with our motto of “writers helping writers,” we are proud to be part of a vibrant community that helps writers tell their stories. Our members write in many genres, including literary fiction, memoir, science fiction and fantasy, history, and poetry. But without encouragement from other writers, or without access to resources to help guide them, many writers would never put pen to paper at all.
Your donations directly support our member services and programs. With your help, we can continue to provide national and local programming for writers at all stages of their careers, so that we may continue to hear the stories we need to hear. We thank you for your support.
We are a registered national arts service organization with charitable status, and this year we will issue official tax receipts for all donations of $10 or more. Every single dollar counts—whether from a one-time gift or through planned giving, such as a regular monthly donation or leaving a bequest to Canadian Authors in your will. We have several options you can select from—we are grateful for whichever one you choose.
