Bio Biography When John Wright retired as a reporter and columnist of 25 years experience, he knew nothing about fiction writing. Then he met two magi from out of the East on a bridge in Wales. They tempted him to try. Thus, historical medieval fiction novels, The Healer, Knight Haralde, The Welsh Lords and The Exiles have been the result. They are available on Amazon. Born in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, John has been writing all his adult life. A graduate of Ryerson’s University journalism program, he has been a reporter, editor, columnist, magazine, travel and outdoor writer. He has won seven Ontario provincial awards and one national Canadian award. He finished his career as an outdoor writer with a focus on environmental issues. An outdoorsman, hiker, camper, sailor and cruising skipper of his own 35-foot sailor, he has rolled many of those outdoor experiences into his journal writings. When the first tracings of the plot for The Healer began to excite his mind, he hiked and traveled through The March, the border country between Wales and England, and found rich medieval history in a Shrewsbury library of an account of Norman invasion and Welsh resistance. The Healer, Knight Haralde,The Welsh Lords and The Exiles were born. Today, he lives with his wife Elaine in Owen Sound, Ontario. You can find me on Facebook and my website is www.wrighthistory.ca
