Bio | Jenna Bailey-Sirko has a Masters of Education from the University of New Brunswick and has been working in education since 2008. She began her teaching career in Nunavut, and now teaches in Ottawa, where she taught the only Inuit kindergarten class in southern Canada. She has presented numerous workshops for educators in Ottawa and Nunavut on the use of storytelling in mathematics, and received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal from the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples for her contributions to First Nations, Métis, and Inuit education. |
Publications | Jenna Bailey-Sirko is published with Inhabit Education. Her first book 'Out on the Ice' was published in 2016 in a big-book format in English and Inuktitut. 'Out on the Ice' has since been released in a smaller size, translated into French, and was turned into an animated short for the children’s show Anaana’s Tent.
