Bio | I am an emerging poet who graduated from The Humber School for Writers (Toronto) in 2013. Since then, my poems have been published in Dreamers Creative Writing, Room, The Steel Chisel, Mindshadows: a Canadian anthology of juried verse, Arborealis, and many other juried anthologies of The Ontario Poetry Society as well as Three Drops from a Cauldron (UK) and Imbolc (UK) and in their 2017 'best of' print’ anthologies. A new poem was featured in “Fresh Voices”, newsletter of The League of Canadian Poets (April 2017). My poem "Georgian Bay Meditation " was chosen by the League of Canadian Poets for this year's "Poem in your Pocket" celebration of April poetry month. My chapbook, "leave the door open for the moon", was published by Jackson Creek Press, Peterborough, Ontario, 2015. I have always been interested in connections between the verbal and the visual. I play with shapes, colours, and texture, trying to wed form and content in my paintings and in my poetry. I try to use the white space on the page as well as the imagery, rhythm, and sound to add greater emphasis to a work. Earlier in my career, I wrote "Science Teacher’s Choice; research activities that work, Broadview Press 1989. I edited tThe Reviewing Librarian ( OSLA publication) for several years, wrote numerous articles and gave workshops on cooperative planning and team teaching in school libraries. |
