The CAA has enabled me to meet other writers, and learn from them as they share their knowledge and experience. I feel comfortable, like I belong, in the company of other writers who support and inspire me to keep writing and never give up—they sustain me.

I joined CAA as a fledgling writer in the 70s. The workshops I attended helped me learn my craft, the writers I met there supported me when I needed encouragement and celebrated with me when I achieved successes however small. I owe a lot to the Canadian Authors Association.

The professional development opportunities–programs, websites, workshops, and the annual CanWrite! conference–are fantastic. I know that the reason I am working full time as a writer and writing instructor is because of the Canadian Authors Association and its members.

I never would have gotten my first book finished and published without the encouragement of the people in the Canadian Authors Association.
