Valerie Behiery was born and grew up in Ottawa. After writing a lot on the art of minoritized communities, she wrote "Stories of Hope and Healing." It is a short story book with all of the nine stories fictional, except for the autobiographical one of the sadness when she lost her dear mother. The other stories are also about life challenges and moving beyond them. This explains why the book has pleased different kinds of audiences.

About the Author

I am a writer, art therapist and former academic. I have written a lot on art history, but I now also write fiction. My new book Stories of Hope and Healing is a short story fiction book. Readers will see that it aims to discuss life challenges and moving beyond them as we must. Good luck everyone.
