Ramona Baillie has a sharp eye for life’s grittier edges. Raised in Pointe-Aux-Trembles—once one of Montreal’s roughest neighbourhoods, she’d faced gang threats, daily fights, and even an attempted abduction. Those early experiences honed her storytelling instincts. She writes from a place of honesty, exploring the messy, off-kilter corners of life. Her work makes space for redemption, but it never strays far from reality. As a playwright, screenwriter, and producer, she has had her plays performed across Canada and her film scripts have garnered awards internationally, with productions in Canada, Europe, and the U.S. Ramona continues to explore the human experience with her debut novel, The Darkest Green, a story as unfiltered and grounded as the life that shaped it.
