Open Mic for Poetry
Hello Friends, Members of the BC Chapter of the CAA
Get ready for our next big event: Open Mic for Poetry!
Wednesday, May 22nd, 7 PM, on ZOOM
By poetry, we mean a short work which features rhythmic use of words to create an image or an emotion, and may include: rhymed verse, free verse, haiku, sonnet, elegy, and other structures.
Whether you write poetry or not, whether you like poetry or not, join us to hear what our poet-colleagues write.
To sign up and listen, click HERE, and the ZOOM link will be sent to you.
To register as a reader of poetry, email us at bcbranch@canadianauthors.org.
The rules for the readers are: Very briefly, introduce yourself and tell us what kind of poetry you write, and what poet you admire. If you have a favourite poetry book, hold it to the screen for 3 seconds. This will give us the context of your work. Then read your poetry – total 5 to 6 minutes per reader.
We look forward to getting to know your poetic work.
