Understand the five elements of editing the written word—clear structural shape, accurate facts, consistent style, correct grammar, and appealing presentation. Ease the early stages of writing a book to make the process go more smoothly, be faster, more intentional, and more enjoyable. Realize that MS Word is the industry standard for writing your book manuscript.

As a book editor, mostly of nonfiction, Nina Shoroplova is able to assess the best structure to support a story, while also ensuring that the detail delivering it is accurate. Providing structural editing, substantive editing, stylistic editing, copy editing, and proofreading, Nina has edited an average of fifteen book manuscripts a year for the last eight years, plus advising on a myriad of shorter pieces.

With a BA in Communications from Simon Fraser University, Nina has been editing the written word since the early 1980s in a range of capacities: newsletter publisher, correspondent for the federal government, and editor.
