NCWC Open for Submissions

The National Capital Region Branch of the Canadian Authors Association is pleased to announce that our National Capital Writing Contest is once again open for submissions.

This year the timing of the event is different: The deadline is Monday, November 30, 2020.

Our 2021 contest celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Authors Association. The founding members met for the first time on March 12, 1921, and our earlier contest deadline allows time to compile and publish an anthology of the top entries before Friday, March 12, 2021, when we will celebrate the contest finalists on that actual 100th anniversary date.
We accept:

  • short story submissions up to 2500 words in length from writers across Canada.
  • poetry, up to 60 lines (no Haiku)

$300 for First Prize, $200 for Second Prize, and $100 for Third Prize.
For all the details, visit National Capital Writing Contest.
