Bio • Anne Lazurko is an award-winning novelist, a no-awards farmer and a sometimes poet. As the youngest of six daughters born to Dutch immigrants, she grew up with a nuanced view of people and their stories. Her novel, What is Written on the Tongue, will be released with ECW Press in April 2022, and she won the Willa Award for Historical Fiction for her first novel, Dollybird (Coteau). A graduate of the Humber Creative Writing program, Anne is published in literary magazines and anthologies. She holds a degree in Political Science and is fascinated by the ways in which history is often (re)-remembered to justify, excuse or redeem. She writes from her farm on Treaty 4 territory in Saskatchewan.
