| Bio | Ellen Marie Francisco was born and raised in Toronto. An early career in film development led her to Hollywood where she worked for years. Her subsequent immersion into the publishing world led her to work for a mass-market publishing company in Beverly Hills and Manhattan. She worked briefly for Sidney Sheldon as a proof-reader and fan mail response writer. She worked behind the scenes as a photographer for Cirque du Soleil and was published in their book Cirque du Soleil. Her art has been published internationally and shown in galleries in Los Angeles, Hawaii, and Ottawa. Her first book Good Girl's Guide to County Jail for the Bad Girl in Us All won an American Book Award in the Law category in 2018. Her book Catastrophic Expectations: Sex, Love, and the Pursuit of Marriage is being published by The Permanent Press on September 30, 2020. She lives in Ottawa, Canada. |
