Bio | A theatre educator at Brock University, Mikko put his roots down in St. Catharines in 2012 for a fresh reboot. He began writing poetry in 2015 in a renewed search to find his voice within the fertile soil of the Niagara arts community. This bore fruit in Spring 2017 when he won the Mayor’s Poetry Challenge that year for his entry, “150.” In 2018, he presented some of his poetry publicly for the first time at the In the Soil Arts Festival. Mikko is a member of the Niagara Regional Learning Centre (adult literacy), and currently sits on its board as Vice Chair. |
