| Bio | A senior specialist in governance, justice, and human rights, I am writing my memoir and constructing a blog and website where I will share stories from growing up in Africa (the Congo), and working in some of the poorest and troubled spots in the world. My stories sit in counterpoint to the dominant Western paradigm in place at this time of the history of the world. This paradigm, in its leftist and rightist, colonial and anti-colonial avatars, has dominated my upbringing in French schools, in Canada, and in the developing countries where I have worked (25 of them) and lived as a UN family member (9 of them). I hope, through my writing, to share a life and perspective lived in the extraordinarily rich world of history, culture, art, literature, music, dance and philosophy, in what most people think of as the most violent and frightening places on the planet. |
