In addition to events centred around children and young people\, the festival includes opportunities for adult writers of children’s literature to take part in pitch sessions and to develop their craft through in-person workshops with the festival’s incredible lineup of authors. \n  \n \n  \nThis Really Happened: True-to-Life Stories for Young Readers \nIn this powerful panel\, Canadian authors of fiction and non-fiction talk about their books for young readers that are rooted in real life events. Join Tina Athaide (Orange for the Sunsets)\, Michel Chikwanine (Child Soldier) and June Hur (The Silence of Bones) as they discuss the important historical moments that shaped their stories. \nThis event will be recorded and will be available soon after our event on our website.
