SUMMARY:Canadian Authors – Niagara: Writing for Young Readers
DESCRIPTION:In this three-hour workshop Angela Misri will take writers through the steps of creating and pitching stories for middle grades and young adult readers. This includes exercises in world-building\, younger points of view\, character diversity\, educational vs entertainment writing\, and story arcs. Participants are welcome to arrive with their own existing ideas and writing. We will be sharing our work at different points in the workshop. \nOnline Event \nFree Workshop – Space is limited. Register on Eventbrite. \nWorkshops are made possible with assistance from St. Catharines Public Library. \nAngela Misri is an award-winning digital journalist\, novelist and instructor with more than twenty years of experience\,\nfourteen of them with the CBC and now as the Digital Director for The Walrus. She is also the author of seven books\, including the 2021 Hackmatack fiction winner\, Pickles vs the Zombies.
