DESCRIPTION:Give Your Writing Legs: The Secret to Creating Compelling Narrative\, with Arlene Marks \nEvery story is a narrative\, and narrative moves forward on two legs\, just as we do: conflict and suspense. They riff off each other\, gripping the reader and keeping them turning pages. This presentation will teach viewers not only how to create conflict and suspense\, but also how to use conflict to create suspense\, and suspense to spawn further conflict\, ultimately imbuing a story with dramatic tension and making it a compelling read. \nBorn and raised in Toronto\, Arlene F. Marks is the acclaimed author of the Sic Transit Terra series\, the recently-launched Sic Transit Stragon series\, the Nash’terel series\, and the Groverton Hauntings series\, among other published works. She is also a veteran editor and teacher of the craft\, presenting workshops both in the classroom and at conferences such as KeyCon\, Ad Astra\, and When Words Collide. Now writing full time after a twenty year career as a high school educator\, Arlene lives with her husband on the shore of Nottawasaga Bay\, where she is currently at work on her 25th book.
