Join us to read what you have written in 2024. It can be: opening paragraphs of a short story, a revised ending of your novel in progress, a synopsis of a memoir you\u2019ll be working on, a poem or two, some notes for an essay that is still taking shape in your head, or even\u00a0a recipe for a pot roast you inherited from your grandmother and will put in a cookbook you intend to publish.<\/p>\n

Anything creative and interesting that is approximately 5 minutes long.<\/p>\n

We will be particularly happy to hear writers who have not read to an audience before. Don\u2019t be shy or humble (humility is a vice)! If you have a piece you\u2019d like to read (or a combination of pieces up to 5 minutes), please bring it and your reading voice! When it\u2019s your turn, very briefly introduce yourself and tell us what you write, and maybe an author you find inspiring. If you have a favourite book,\u00a0hold it to the screen for 3 seconds. This will give us the context of your work and help us get to know you better.<\/p>\n

Then read your work \u2013 total 5 to 6 minutes per reader.<\/p>\n
