Russ Froese

Russ Froese is an award-winning Television Reporter, Anchor and Documentary maker with 35 years experience in domestic and international assignments who now uses his communication and reporting skills to assist the Canadian Red Cross (CRC) fulfill its humanitarian mission.

As a Communications Delegate, he was a spokesperson and communications specialist in the disaster zone of Banda Aceh Indonesia after the 2004 earthquake and tsunami. Russ was the manager of the CRC Detention Monitoring Program for western Canada for a number of years until 2018. He also volunteers his time to help with disaster responses in Canada and to help teach International Humanitarian Law to journalism students.

Russ contracts his services as a consultant for crisis communications strategies and media training, he produces freelance videos and does voice-over work.

When not working, he volunteers on the board of the Surrey Homelessness and Housing Society, he enjoys playing in a band and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
