The Young Authors of Canada (YAC) program provides programming for youth aged 13 to 18.
 
Currently active in select Ontario communities, over time the program will be expanding across Canada and will include an interactive YAC website, online forums, and special events held in select communities as well as online.

WE WANT TO PUBLISH YOUR WORK!

Young Authors of Canada is publishing our first anthology and we want your short stories and poetry!

The anthology will be published this spring. Selected authors and poets will be invited to read at CanWrite! our annual writers’ conference held in Orillia, Ontario, and will celebration their publication success at a book launch to be held this summer.

Deadline for submissions is FRIDAY MAY 9!

All artists selected for the anthology will be contacted no later than May 15. Details on our book launch will be updated shortly.

CRITERIA:
You must be between 13-18 years old
You must live in Simcoe County

SUBMISSION DETAILS:

Short Stories:

1. You can submit short stories of fiction or non-fiction (up to 2000 words max).
2. Submit in a word document, or PDF or RTF file to nbickle@canadianauthors.org.
3. The format your story should submitted in is: double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 pt font.
4. Please attach a cover sheet with your story that includes:

Name
Address
Phone Number
Email address
Title of work
Word count

Poetry

1. You can submit up to 5 pieces of poetry, with a combined total of 50 lines max.
2. Submit in a word document, or PDF or RTF file to nbickle@canadianauthors.org.
3. Please attach a cover sheet with your poetry that includes:

Name
Address
Phone Number
Email address
Title of poem(s)
Line count
